Michael Mueller A richly percussive album (as one might expect), but still a highly melodic one. These are impressive compositions, impeccably played; the balance between precision and emotion pitch-perfect every time.

It's great to listen to music that pushes musical boundaries in ways that are so commandingly self-assured, that they belie that very newness. The Kraken Quartet sound like they've been making music like this forever. Here's hoping that they do. Favorite track: Ox.

Carlos.S.Aguirre My girlfriend I watched The Kraken Quartet open up for TTNG in Austin, Texas, Summer '16. Beautiful setlist, but one song just took my breath away. Never knew the name of it and never found it online... until this album was released. Words cannot describe the satisfactions I felt when I heard that song once again. As for the rest of the album, just as wonderful. Buy it and support them! They are doing something that's never been heard before. You won't be disappointed. Favorite track: House 11.

Rich Hims Aside from reminding me of the rhythm game Pulse, The Kraken Quartet perfectly fill that niche of engaging Jazz that doesn't feel too dumbed down. Favorite track: Chance The Dog (the song).

Ashton Gasser That's all my money man I ain't got no more money no more. Favorite track: Ox.
Art Fin

Art Fin Excellent, adventurous "percussion & electronics quartet" from Austin TX that I will call experimental jazztronica/gamelan-rock with multiple drummers, vibraphone, marimba and electronics. Trance-inducing. Reminds me of Diga Rhythm Band (1970s) crossed with Amon Tobin (1990s) crossed with Brandt Brauer Frick (2010s).
