Ed Buckley This is the Audiotree session sans the interview parts. All 4 are percussionists, with 2 being the primary synthesists. Mainly utilizing drumkit, marimba and xylophone as the percussion, theirs is a style I would call classically influenced fusion. Fans of ensemble, et al really need to check this out. They are VERY good. Thanks Beefy! :-)The Audiotree video www.youtube.com/watch?v=s555R_6CCA8

Art Fin Excellent jazztronica/gamelan-rock experimental percussion band with multiple drummers, vibraphone, marimba and electronics. Trance-inducing. It reminds me of Diga Rhythm Band. The sound quailty of this session is great. Their Facebook page says they are working on a debut album for 2017. Favorite track: Chance The Dog (the song).

irisFibers I've been a post rock fan since the early 2000's and this is some of the most fascinating (genre bending) post rock I've ever heard. A truly unique, epic addition to the genre and to music in general. Can't wait to for their album to come out! Favorite track: Separate | Migrate.

about

The Kraken Quartet is an experimental percussion project begun at college in Ithaca, NY. They're influenced by minimalist tonality and a variety of jazz, classical and percussion musicians from across the professional music world. The band's setup has steadily grown over time, filling voids by incorporating more instrumentation into each member's personal array. Their icy and eclectic soundscapes are the perfect accompaniment to dark morning walks in cold weather.

Watch the stellar performance here on Audiotree Live.
